About the position The Phlebotomy Tech I position is responsible for the collection and processing of biological specimens in various settings, including hospitals, patient service centers, and mobile diagnostic services. The role involves ensuring accurate specimen handling, data entry, and compliance with regulatory standards while providing excellent customer service. The technician will also perform specified analytical testing and maintain quality assurance in their work. Responsibilities ? Collect biological specimens from patients following established protocols. , ? Enter and verify patient demographics and specimen information into the computer system accurately. , ? Prepare samples for analytical testing and ensure timely delivery to the appropriate technical area. , ? Maintain quality standards by ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with departmental procedures. , ? Participate in departmental financial responsibilities by managing supplies and reducing waste. , ? Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, resolving service issues as needed. Requirements ? Minimum age requirement of 18. , ? High School diploma or equivalent, depending on state regulations. , ? Completion of a phlebotomy program or relevant phlebotomy experience. , ? Basic knowledge of department resource materials. , ? Ability to obtain DHS Fingerprinting Certification if required. , ? Valid state driver's license and eligibility for company auto insurance coverage. Nice-to-haves ? Bilingual (Spanish/English). , ? Knowledge of medical terminology. , ?
