Job Description
As a Flight Attendant with United Airlines, you are the face of our airline and represent our brand on a global scale. You are responsible for the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our passengers throughout their journey. Your day-to-day tasks will vary from performing pre-flight inspections of emergency equipment, demonstrating safety procedures, serving meals and beverages, to handling passenger queries and managing in-flight emergencies.
Responsibilities
– Conduct safety checks before flight
– Greet passengers and assist with seating arrangements
– Demonstrate emergency and safety procedures such as the use of seat belts, oxygen masks, and life jackets
– Serve snacks, beverages, and meals, as well as sell onboard duty-free goods
– Answer passenger questions and provide assistance to passengers including children, elderly or disabled individuals
– Manage in-flight emergencies and provide first aid as needed
– Ensure the cabin is clean and tidy throughout the flight
– Prepare flight reports and communicate with the cabin crew and ground staff
Requirements
– Minimum age of 18 years
– High School diploma or equivalent
– Proficiency in English; multilingual skills are a plus
– Ability to relocate as needed and flexibility in scheduling which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
– Must pass a background check and drug test
– Physically fit to meet the airlines requirements, including the ability to push, pull, bend, and lift up to 35 pounds
– Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
– Empathy and ability to work in a multicultural team environment
Educational Qualifications
– High School Diploma or GED required
– Further certifications in hospitality, customer service, or safety are advantageous
