About arenaflex – Leading the Pet Insurance Revolution

arenaflex is a pioneering provider of medical insurance for cats and dogs across North America. Our mission is simple yet powerful: empower loving, responsible pet owners to budget for and protect the health of their beloved companions. We combine cutting‑edge technology with a heartfelt commitment to pets, creating a culture that is collaborative, casual, and proudly pet‑friendly. At arenaflex, every team member is encouraged to bring their authentic self to work, whether they’re brainstorming new policy features, supporting a member in the middle of the night, or sharing a story about their own furry friend.

Why This Role Matters

As an Overnight Customer Support Specialist at arenaflex, you will be the frontline guardian of our members’ peace of mind. When a pet owner calls after hours, you become the trusted voice that turns a stressful situation into a reassuring experience. Your ability to empathize, investigate, and resolve complex issues will directly impact the lifelong value that members place on their pet’s coverage. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of pets and their families.

Schedule & Commitment

Our overnight team operates on Pacific Time, covering the critical window from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM PT. The position is full‑time (8‑hour shifts, five days a week) with a consistent weekend schedule—no rotating weekends. During the first seven weeks of onboarding, you will train Monday‑through‑Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PT to master our systems, policies, and member‑centric approach.

Important: Weekend availability is mandatory. Applications lacking weekend availability will not be considered.

Location Flexibility

arenaflex embraces a flexible, remote‑first workplace for U.S. candidates (excluding Georgia and Florida unless you already hold an active Property & Casualty license). If you prefer a blend of remote and on‑site work, you may opt for a hybrid schedule at our Seattle office, provided you can connect via a hard‑wired Ethernet connection.

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver empathetic, solution‑focused support to members navigating sensitive pet‑health situations.
  • Navigate multiple internal systems simultaneously to retrieve policy details, claim status, and billing information.
  • Adapt quickly to evolving processes, workflow changes, and new product offerings while maintaining high service standards.
  • Ask probing, open‑ended questions to uncover root causes and identify the most effective resolutions.
  • Manage a high‑volume contact center environment, balancing efficiency with the “legendary member service” arenaflex is known for.
  • Tailor communication style—whether calm, technical, or friendly—to match each member’s unique needs and emotional state.
  • Document interactions accurately in our CRM, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (claims, underwriting, finance) to resolve complex issues that span multiple departments.
  • Participate in ongoing training, knowledge‑base updates, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of proven experience working overnight shifts in a customer‑facing environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience directly engaging with members or customers, preferably in insurance, healthcare, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and operate complex computer systems quickly and accurately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote work setting, managing time and distractions effectively.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French or Spanish is a distinct advantage.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Assets

  • Previous work‑from‑home experience, showcasing self‑discipline and reliable internet connectivity.
  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license—candidates with a license receive a $1,500 sign‑on bonus.
  • If you do not yet hold a P&C license, arenaflex offers paid coursework and study time during the first three weeks of training for qualifying states (excluding Florida & Georgia).
  • Experience in pet‑related industries or a genuine passion for animal welfare.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Zendesk, or similar tools.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Empathy & Active Listening: Ability to convey genuine care, especially during emotionally charged calls.
  • Problem‑Solving: Creative thinking to devise solutions when standard procedures fall short.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with shifting priorities, new technology rollouts, and evolving policies.
  • Time Management: Efficiently handle multiple cases while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Technical Proficiency: Quick mastery of multi‑system navigation, data entry, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to coordinate with internal partners and share best practices.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and friendly articulation, both written and verbal.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its team members. As an Overnight Customer Support Specialist, you will have access to:

  • Structured onboarding and continuous training programs that keep you at the forefront of pet‑insurance knowledge.
  • Mentorship from senior support leaders and cross‑departmental experts.
  • Opportunities to transition into specialized roles such as Claims Analyst, Member Experience Manager, or P&C Underwriting.
  • Certification support for industry‑recognized credentials (e.g., CPCU, AINS).
  • Regular performance reviews with clear pathways for promotion and salary advancement.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits

  • Base Pay: $24.50 per hour on a full‑time schedule.
  • Performance Bonuses: Uncapped monthly bonuses based on individual metrics and team outcomes.
  • Equity Participation: Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) granted to all new hires, vesting over four years, aligning your success with arenaflex’s growth.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage at no cost to you.
  • Paid Time Off: Four weeks of PTO plus nine floating holidays, with flexibility to choose dates that matter most to you.
  • Sabbatical Program: Five‑week sabbatical after five years of service, encouraging long‑term work‑life balance.
