Remote Customer Service Representative – Federal Student Loan Support (Hybrid, DFW Texas)

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

About This Opportunity

arenaflex is excited to build a pipeline of talented, motivated, and compassionate professionals for upcoming hybrid Customer Service Representative roles supporting federal student loan borrowers. While these positions are slated to open in the near future, we are beginning the recruitment process early to ensure that the most qualified candidates are ready to step into meaningful work the moment our doors open. This is more than a typical call center job — it is an opportunity to make a tangible, positive difference in the financial lives of individuals and families navigating the complexities of student loan repayment. If you thrive in a structured, fast-paced environment, enjoy problem-solving, and take genuine satisfaction in helping people find clarity during stressful financial moments, we want to hear from you.

As a Customer Service Representative with arenaflex, you will serve as a trusted point of contact for borrowers seeking guidance on federal student loan programs. Your work will blend empathy, accuracy, and accountability, requiring you to handle a high volume of inbound and outbound communications, including phone calls and live chat interactions. Whether you are explaining repayment options, processing a payment, or helping a borrower understand deferment and forbearance eligibility, every conversation is a chance to deliver an exceptional customer experience and uphold the integrity of arenaflex and the federal partners we proudly serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consistently and professionally respond to a high volume of incoming borrower calls and live chat inquiries, delivering courteous and knowledgeable service on every interaction.
  • Proactively make outbound calls to borrowers to discuss account status, repayment strategies, and available assistance programs.
  • Counsel and inform borrowers about their full range of repayment options, including income-driven repayment plans, deferments, and forbearance eligibility, ensuring each borrower understands the long-term financial implications of their choices.
  • Accurately process loan payments and update borrower accounts in real time, maintaining meticulous attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Develop deep proficiency in navigating internal systems and borrower account databases to quickly locate the information needed to resolve inquiries on the first contact.
  • Minimize hold times and avoid unnecessary transfers by confidently addressing borrower questions in a single interaction whenever possible.
  • Safeguard the security and privacy of every borrower, strictly adhering to federal regulations, company policies, and arenaflex’s rigorous data protection standards.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of all borrower interactions in the company’s CRM and case management platforms.
  • Work a full 8-hour shift with a one-hour lunch break and two 15-minute rest breaks, demonstrating the reliability and consistency arenaflex values in every team member.
  • Stay current on federal student loan regulations, repayment plan changes, and internal procedural updates through ongoing paid training and professional development sessions.
  • Meet or exceed established performance metrics related to call quality, call handling time, customer satisfaction, and compliance adherence.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college coursework, an associate degree, or a bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred and will be given additional consideration.
  • Assessment Completion: All candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment cognitive and personality assessment administered through our evaluation partner. This assessment typically takes about 20 minutes and is best completed on a laptop or desktop computer rather than a mobile device to ensure the most accurate results.
  • Security Clearance: Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Federal 5C Security Clearance, which includes a thorough background check and a credit check. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency may be required depending on the specific clearance tier.
  • Location: Applicants must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area in Texas. These hybrid roles require occasional on-site presence, so local residency is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are non-negotiable. You will be explaining complex financial and regulatory information in a way that is clear, calm, and easy to understand.
  • Organizational Ability: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple borrower accounts and tasks simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy or service quality.
  • Multitasking: Demonstrated ability to type accurately while actively engaged in a phone conversation — a critical skill in our fast-paced environment.
  • Home Office Setup: A dedicated, noise-free, distraction-free workspace within your home, plus reliable home internet service with a minimum of 10 Mbps capacity and a router capable of supporting a wired ethernet connection.
  • Technical Comfort: Strong general computer skills, including proficiency with web browsers, multi-monitor navigation, chat platforms, and standard office software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a customer service, call center, financial services, banking, collections, or federal student loan environment.
  • Familiarity with federal student loan terminology, repayment plans, and the Department of Education’s systems.
  • Experience working in a remote or hybrid capacity with demonstrated self-discipline and productivity.
  • Bilingual or multilingual capabilities, particularly Spanish, which are highly valued at arenaflex for serving our diverse borrower population.
  • Previous experience meeting quality assurance standards in a regulated or compliance-driven industry.

Skills and Competencies for Success

  • Empathy and Patience: The ability to listen actively and respond with genuine understanding, especially when borrowers are experiencing financial stress or uncertainty.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive approach to identifying the best solution for each borrower’s unique situation, balancing borrower needs with regulatory requirements.
  • Resilience: The emotional fortitude to handle difficult conversations with professionalism and composure, day after day.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with evolving policies, system updates, and shifting priorities in a dynamic, growth-oriented organization.
  • Attention to Detail: A commitment to accuracy in every transaction, every account update, and every compliance-related task.
  • Team Collaboration: A willingness to support colleagues, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture at arenaflex.
  • Time Management: The ability to manage call queues efficiently while maintaining the high-quality service standards that define the arenaflex experience.

What arenaflex Provides

  • Equipment: All required computers, monitors, and accessories are provided at no cost to you, so you can focus on your work from day one.
  • Paid Training: Comprehensive paid training is provided at your regular hourly wage, so you are compensated for every hour you spend learning the role, the systems, and the regulations.
