Job Summary

As a Data Entry Representative, you'll be responsible for supporting our Revenue Cycle Management operations by accurately and efficiently entering data into our mainframe applications. You'll work closely with our team to ensure that all billing data is accurate, complete, and meets the necessary "edits" for successful processing. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to navigate multiple computer applications will be essential in this role.

Primary Responsibilities

• Transfer data from imaged accessions into mainframe applications with precision and accuracy.

  • Enter billing mnemonics and all required billing information from imaged requisitions, including US postal addresses, medical codes, insurance carrier details, and more.
  • Ensure that all necessary "edits" are met and missing information is updated for billing purposes.
  • Research and resolve billing errors with additional information received from clients or patients.
  • Review bills denied by payers/insurance due to eligibility criteria, including patients not being covered on the date of service, errors with patient or insurance information, and more.
  • Research and update bills to resolve denials for re-billing.
  • Navigate multiple computer applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, online applications, and mainframe applications.
  • Conduct basic research in computer applications to perform data entry, such as address, billing codes, and reject codes.
  • Follow additional procedural guidelines to enter information into our systems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of data entry experience

  • Customer service experience
  • Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish
  • Proficiency with computer, Windows PC, and web applications, including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Ability to work 40 hours/week during standard business operating hours (Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm) with occasional overtime on weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical billing experience

  • Proven knowledge of medical or health insurance terminology
  • Proven solid Microsoft Excel skills

• Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer applications and learn new systems
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish
  • Basic research skills in computer applications
