LPPH is administered by the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Together, they constitute one of the largest units in the UCSF School of Medicine and the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences, with a mission focused on research (basic, translational, and clinical), teaching, patient care, and public service.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or equivalent
- Active Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within 2 months of hire
- Demonstrated competence in the following areas: Clinical practice, communication, clinical case management, leadership skills, problem identification/resolution
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
- Previous experience with electronic medical records systems
- Previous experience as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in an inpatient setting or equivalent
- Previous experience in Psychiatric ER
- California Drivers License (CDL if required for position
- Must hold current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work
- Accepted Certifications for this position: Adult Inpatient, Adult Outpatient, Adult Hybrid Inpatient and Outpatient, Pediatric Inpatient, Pediatric outpatient, Pediatric Hybrid Inpatient and Outpatient,Psychiatric and Mental Health Care - Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) Certification (PMHNP-BC)
- Must hold a current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California
- Must have completed a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a Nurse Practitioner
- Must obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).
- Must have submitted enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments.
- Must hold current AHA BLS as minimum requirement
- State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice
- Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1
