New Business Analyst
Principal Financial Group operates at the intersection of financial services and technology, aiming to make financial security accessible to all. As a New Business Analyst, you will collaborate with sales representatives and brokers to provide quote support for group benefit product sales, preparing complex proposals and enhancing customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Prepare complex group new business and cross-purchase proposals including reversions
- Apply office level customization by understanding key broker relationships and assess benefits of current carrier to align Principal plan designs using high level of knowledge of our quoting process, screening for risks using underwriting and product guidelines
- Follow-up for complete information and input into proposal system
- Work with sales offices and brokers to complete the quote as well as enhance the overall Principal relationship
- Research, answer questions and provide information and recommendations to internal and external customers
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of related experience in group benefits services, marketing or sales
- Broad understanding of insurance operations, products and concepts
- Strong planning, organizational, problem solving, analytical decision making and time management skills
- Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop effective relationships
- High levels of productivity and quality
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-directed and able to accomplish work with limited supervision and general work direction
- Strong skills in working with spreadsheets, formulas, graphs and tables
- Occasional overtime may be required
- Some travel may be required including overnight stays (5%)
