Job description:
- A masters degree or higher, from an accredited college or university with specific emphasis in school administration, special education and/or curriculum and instruction.
- Administrative experience preferred
- OPES 2.0 Credentialed preferred

- Assists with all matters related to curriculum and instruction.
- Responsible for all building communications in collaboration with key stakeholders of the learning community.
- Responsible for all building budgets.
- Responsible for communicating with the union leadership.
- Coordinates the selection process for the classified and certificated personnel assigned to the elementary school.
- Coordinates the work of building level leaders.
- Works with the assistant superintendent in the recruitment of teaching staff.
- Provides leadership by supervising the improvement of instruction, staff development, faculty meetings, conferences and visitations for high school staff in conjunction with the department of curriculum and instruction.
- Fosters good interpersonal relations among staff.
- Interprets and implements management team procedures.
- Plans and facilitates faculty meetings.
- Appoints faculty committees.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with community, business and industry and encourages working relationships with them.
- Monitors teacher absence, leaves, visitations, attendance at professional meetings, etc.
- Assures the safety of students and staff through accident prevention programs, disaster drills and other appropriate means.
- Directs or coordinates class activities, field trips, orientations, etc.
- Provides for student discipline as necessary according to the established policies and regulations of the building and the district.
- Meets with parent organizations and other interested citizen groups to facilitate their work.
- Provides the parents and community with information about ongoing programs and develops means to insure the free flow of accurate information.
- Coordinates preparation of the middle school master calendar and the development of the master schedule.
- Meets with the head custodian to plan for proper maintenance, utilization and upkeep of the building.
- Keeps the superintendent and/or superintendents designee informed as to the condition of the school, personnel, student achievement and all activities.
- Prepares or directs preparation of all required reports.
- Attends all meetings of the administrative staff and serves on various committees to promote development of the school system.
- Shared responsibilities for MTSS, DLT, BLT and TBT.
