The Role

As a Mechanical Customer Service Expert, you'll be responsible for handling customer inquiries with care, providing excellent service through active listening, and resolving issues proactively. You'll work in a collaborative and engaging virtual environment, interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Handling and carefully responding to all customer inquiries
  • Providing excellent customer service through active listening
  • Working with confidential customer information and treating it sensitively
  • Aiming to resolve issues on the first call by being proactive
  • Appropriately communicating with customers
  • Calmly attempting to resolve and de-escalate any issues
  • Escalating interactions when necessary and appropriate
  • Tracking all call-related information for auditing and reporting purposes
  • Providing feedback on call issues

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Ability to work remotely in a virtual team environment
  • 6 months of customer service experience (preferably in a mechanical or technical field)
  • Over 18 years of age
  • Ability to type 25 wpm
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Comfort with desktop computer systems
  • Proven oral and written communication skills
  • Logical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to navigate Windows operating systems
  • Organization and work prioritization skills

Nice-to-Haves

While not required, the following skills and qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in a mechanical or technical field
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Knowledge of industry-specific terminology and concepts
  • Certification in customer service or a related field
