Associate Attorney - Commercial Litigation
O'Hagan Meyer is seeking an attorney with at least 1 year of litigation experience to join their Hermosa Beach office. The role involves handling a wide range of civil litigation matters, including business/commercial litigation, professional liability, and employment, while providing opportunities for significant responsibility and direct client interaction.
Responsibilities
- This role requires legal research, drafting of pleadings motions and other documents, taking and defending depositions, drafting and answering discovery requests, trial preparation and trial assistance
- This position also requires the ability to communicate with both clients and colleagues effectively
- This position will require some local travel for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections and depositions
Skills
- 1+ years of experience in civil litigation
- This role requires legal research, drafting of pleadings motions and other documents, taking and defending depositions, drafting and answering discovery requests, trial preparation and trial assistance
- Ability to communicate with both clients and colleagues effectively
- Some local travel for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections and depositions
- Admission to the state bar of California required
- Experience litigating in some or all of the areas of business/commercial litigation, professional liability, premises liability, employment, and/or directors & officers defense
- Experience with both state and federal courts
