About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Manager, Data Science to lead a geographically diverse team of talented data scientists. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, enhancing, maintaining, and executing our data science roadmap, while working closely with the Senior Director of Data Science. This high-impact role requires a balance of strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and the ability to establish and strengthen strategic relationships that deliver quantifiable value through data science, machine learning, and AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of data scientists across the US and Mexico, fostering a collaborative and empowering environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.
• Strategy Development: Develop and refine the data science strategy in alignment with organizational goals, while establishing clear objectives and benchmarks.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with key stakeholders to enhance existing analytical capabilities and identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive significant business outcomes.
• Project Execution: Champion the development and execution of advanced data science projects, ensuring timely delivery and the realization of objectives.
• Communication: Communicate complex analytical insights and data-driven strategies to executive, technical, and non-technical audiences through persuasive presentations.
• Technical Collaboration: Collaborate with the analytics engineering, data engineering, and cloud operations teams to provide the necessary tools, data, and infrastructure for data science initiatives.
• Continuous Learning: Encourage a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the data science team to stay abreast of the latest industry developments and technologies.
• Technical Expertise: Leverage expertise in Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and Gen AI to promote innovation and maintain a competitive edge within the data science practice.

Essential Qualifications

Experience and Education

• Professional Experience: At least 6 years of professional experience in data science or a related field, with a proven track record of leading and managing data-driven projects.
• Leadership Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a leadership or management role, overseeing teams of data scientists.
• Education: A Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.

Skills and Competencies

• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of data science methodologies, machine learning algorithms, and AI technologies.
• Microsoft Azure: Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, Azure Databricks, and other data science and analytics platforms.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across various departments.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities and a creative approach to challenges.
• Gen AI: Familiarity with Gen AI and its applications in driving business value.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

• Ph.D.: A Ph.D. in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related discipline is highly preferred.

Skills and Experience

• Big Data: Experience with big data technologies and architectures.
• Data Governance: Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices.
• Certification: Certification in Microsoft Azure or other relevant cloud technologies.
• Innovation: Ability to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Mentorship: Passion for mentoring and developing talent within the data science domain.

What We Offer

Compensation and Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $170,520.00 - $255,780.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
