Job Overview

As an IT Support Specialist at blithequark, you will be responsible for providing expert technical assistance and support to our crewmembers and clients. This is a part-time, remote position that offers a competitive hourly rate of $30. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing timely solutions to ensure seamless operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for all blithequark equipment and applications, including communication and mobile devices
  • Deliver exceptional on-site and remote customer service to blithequark crewmembers
  • Coordinate resolution of incidents/requests from start to finish with internal and external resources
  • Monitor and support systems, ensuring optimal performance and uptime
  • Maintain and support client access, ensuring seamless connectivity and minimal downtime
  • Collaborate with software package rollouts and support, ensuring smooth implementation and minimal disruptions
  • Work with all Data Innovation (IT) disciplines to achieve first-contact resolution with all issues
  • Maintain documentation of requests per blithequark standards, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
  • Update database documentation with the most critical information, ensuring knowledge sharing and continuity
  • Coordinate response for significant incidents and outages, ensuring timely and effective resolution

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate
  • Experience supporting latest operating systems or successful completion of IT for Everybody certificate via Coursera
  • Experience implementing and supporting applications
  • Availability for short-term travel (up to 50%)
  • Possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of Jamaica and the US
  • Ability to obtain a valid visa to travel to the US
  • Experience using desktop arrangement packages
  • Legally qualified to work in the country in which the position is located (note: this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship)

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

While not essential, the following skills and qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Certifications (Microsoft, Networking, programming languages)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server products
  • Knowledge of Exchange and Office Suite
  • Knowledge of LAN environment using TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
  • Knowledge of communication, messaging, and system (VOIP and POTS)
  • Knowledge of mobile devices
  • Knowledge of MDM solutions like Workspace ONE and Microsoft Intune
  • Knowledge of General media solutions

  • Assist with light cleaning of the aircraft while working or traveling on blithequark flights (if time allows)
