About the Role

As a Customer Service Representative (Student Loan Advisor) at blithequark, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch support to our customers, answering their questions, and resolving any issues they may encounter. You will be the face of our company, and your excellent communication skills, empathy, and problem-solving abilities will be essential in ensuring that our customers receive the best possible experience. This is an in-center position with the possibility of working from home after 90 days, provided you meet the required performance, attendance, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take incoming calls, use chat, and complete outbound calls as necessary to assist customers with their queries and concerns
  • Provide detailed information, process applications, and resolve emerging problems with accuracy and efficiency
  • Practice active listening, be empathic, and communicate clearly with customers in a positive and professional manner
  • Utilize standard technology such as a telephone, email, and web browser to navigate to pre-scripted responses and provide basic general and claims-specific information
  • Follow established and documented policies and standard operating procedures, including working within various systems, timekeeping, documentation, and adhering to ethics and privacy rules
  • Assist callers with filling out their applications and submitting them electronically to plan providers for processing
  • Complete basic call logs, documentation, and related call details for each phone inquiry

Schedule and Work Environment

Our schedule is as follows:

  • Monday: 11:45am-8:15pm
  • Tuesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
  • Wednesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
  • Thursday: 8:45am-5:15pm
  • Friday: 8:45am-5:15pm

Please note that you may be required to work holidays, and overtime may be necessary.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to speak and read English clearly, professionally, and fluently
  • Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM
  • Experience working with a personal computer and the Windows operating system
  • Ability to effectively work within established key performance indicators/metrics
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized while completing simultaneous tasks

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate and interact effectively with customers and co-workers
  • Knowledge of contact center technology
  • Strong computer skills with proficiencies in Excel and Word
  • Excellent command of the English language, effective use of grammar skills, and excellent communication etiquette
  • Ability to navigate various systems and browsers
  • Great customer service skills, including personalizing calls, being competent with information and assistance, being patient and polite, and being initiative-taking in offering solutions and assistance
