Responsibilities

As a Scheduling Lead, Medical Group, you will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Scheduling: Analyze schedules and collaborate with local market schedulers to develop optimized schedules that maximize resource utilization and meet contact hour goals
  • Proactive Census Management: Implement proactive strategies to identify and mitigate potential gaps in patient appointments, ensuring a balanced provider census
  • Technology Champion: Partner with local leadership to leverage the full potential of our scheduling system and identify opportunities for automation and improvement
  • Patient Advocate: Develop scripting to enable local market schedulers to build rapport with patients and families, effectively communicating services, appointment details, and follow-up instructions
  • Communication Hub: Centrally manage clear and timely communication of updates, strategies, and scheduling tools for the local market scheduling teams
  • Mentor: Monitor scheduler competencies and partner with local leadership to implement refresher training as needed. Develop and maintain up-to-date operational playbooks and best practices
  • Problem-Solver: Proactively identify and resolve scheduling challenges, escalating complex issues to the appropriate matrix partners

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Education: 2+ years of college, and/or equivalent experience
  • Healthcare Experience: 2 years of healthcare-related experience
  • Leadership Experience: Successful track record of managing and maintaining positive relationships with direct reports
  • Analytical and Critical Thinking Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to move quickly to solve complex, real-time issues
  • Medical Terminology: Strong working knowledge of medical terminology, conditions, illnesses, and treatment practices
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skill set level with a strong foundation and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Leadership Experience: 2+ years of leadership experience
