Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Principal UX Product Designer to lead the charge in shaping Target's evolving digital experience. As a seasoned design professional with a proven track record in delivering exceptional user-centered experiences within a dynamic retail environment, you'll play a critical role in defining and implementing the strategy for our Home and Category Pages, Header, Footer, and Site Navigation. Your work will come to life on Target's digital touchpoints, including web, mobile web, and native apps.

Key Responsibilities

• Set UX Strategy and Vision: Define and implement the UX strategy and vision for product experience across digital platforms, influencing investment, collaborations, and the balance of new vs. iteration.
• Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Skillfully lead and coordinate collaborative efforts among diverse cross-functional teams and engage effectively with senior-level stakeholders.
• Navigate Complexity: Navigate complexity and ambiguity while delivering impact for guests and the business.
• Design Craft: Hold design work to a high standard of craft, including accessibility, content, user research, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design.
• Drive Design Deliverables: Drive strategy for, and creation of, design deliverables representative of the design process phase, such as journey maps, wireframes, user flows, UI design, and prototypes.
• Champion Research Methods: Champion both qualitative and quantitative research methods in design decisions and rationale.
• Influence Culture: Influence and advance a culture of human-centered practice within UX, product, and engineering teams.
• Support Junior Designers: Support the development of junior product designers and contribute to advancing the broader practice of UX at Target.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• 10+ Years of Experience: Experienced product designer with 10+ years of relevant product design work.
• Expert Proficiency: Expert proficiency in UX and product design, coupled with adeptness in organizing, planning, and taking ownership of the design process.
• Strategic Problem-Solving: Expert strategic problem-solving, systems thinking, and collaboration skills.
• Design Tools: Expert proficiency in product design and prototyping tools, such as Figma.
• Data-Driven: Proven ability to effectively use data and insights to set direction and communicate approach.
• Executive Leadership: Strong experience collaborating with and delivering presentations to executive leadership, employing effective storytelling techniques.
• Business Acumen: Expert in communicating how design connects to, serves, and improves the business.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Remote or Hybrid Work: Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment.
• Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and design sprints.
• Design Systems: Experience with design systems and design language.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $160,900 to $289,700, depending on experience and qualifications.
