Contract: Senior Software Engineer

This is an engagement through Upwork's Hybrid Workforce Solutions (HWS) Team. Our Hybrid Workforce Solutions Team is a global group of professionals that support Upwork's business. Our HWS team members are located all over the world.

Work/Project Scope

• Develop AI-powered documentation solutions and contribute to MCP (Model Context Protocol) development.
• Build centralized Opensearch-based documentation discovery services.
• Integrate DX tooling for engineering metrics to optimize engineering team performance.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines with data validation across multiple platforms and data sources.
• Create and validate dashboards using Grafana and develop advanced dashboards in Retool.
• Perform time series data analysis and manage PostgreSQL/data warehouse systems.
• Conduct survey analysis, ROI analysis, and data correlation across platforms.

Must Haves (Required Skills)

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics.
• Advanced SQL and database management expertise.
• Python programming for data processing and automation.
• JavaScript for metrics calculations and query optimization.
• Experience with Grafana and Retool for dashboard development.
• AWS/EC2 and PostgreSQL experience with multi-platform system integration.
