Network Administrator – Fastwyre Broadband – Sulphur, LA

Job title: Network Administrator Company: Fastwyre Broadband Job description: Position Purpose/Summary The Network Administrator is committed to providing the highest quality of service to the communities, customers, and employees we serve by overseeing computer systems or database networks to ensure proper maintenance and security while identifying network or computer system needs, installation of new hardware and software, etc. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain computer networks and systems including software, mainframes, VPNs, routers and other physical hardware.
• Install and configure network equipment to update or fix hardware or software issues.
• Update virus protection software to keep data and communications protected.
• Monitor computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks.
• Communicate network issues to other employees and management, as needed.
• Fix software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems.
• Maintain network address assignments, management, and implementation of protocols.
• Conduct maintenance on computers, printer, routers, etc.
• Ensure the network(s) are working effectively and are properly maintained.
• Ensure that licenses are paid for and up to date, check for security breaches, and maintain proper installations and applications.
• Maintain IT inventories updating schedules as needed and properly disposing of equipment.
• Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

At a minimum, the Network Administrator must have an Associates degree in computer science or equivalent, 3+ years of network maintenance experience, and a valid driver’s license or 5+ years of network experience and a valid driver’s license is required.
