Forklift Operator - Night Shift (Executive Drive) - MetroPark Warehouses - Kansas City, MO - work from home job Company: MetroPark Warehouses Job description: METRO PARK WAREHOUSES, LLC We are looking for a reliable Forklift Operator to operate industrial equipment and manually move materials in the warehouse region to prepare products for shipping and delivery. Minimum Qualifications:
- Forklift Experience
Pay: $19.25/hour Duties and Responsibilities
- Loading or unloading materials manually, on/off pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devices
- Moving controls, devices, and levers to operate equipment to move cases or pallets of product between unloading, loading, processing and storage areas
- Palletize and shrink wrap freight while loading/unloading and check equipment for safety purposes prior to deliveries
- Accurately document information to provide traceability for product being received and shipped
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of warehouse and trailer premises
- Examine loads to verify quantity, type of material, safety compliance, and compliance with facility and customer requirements
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed
- Record time on labor management reports and document any shortages or damages
Essential Functions
- Capability to learn and use a remote data collection device (RDCD)
- Learn to use lift truck attachments including carton clamp, pull-pac and side shift
- Ability to operate a counterbalance lift truck, reach forklift truck, motorized pallet jack and order picker
- Must be able to safely operate the forklift while driving backwards, which will require, in a sitting position, a rotation of the torso approximately 65° and a rotation of the neck approximately 90°
- Ability to push or pull a 55-gallon drum, fifth wheel, and/or a two-wheel hand truck for loading and unloading purposes
- Must be able to manipulate up to 100lbs of freight, load locks, trailer doors, drums, and dunnage
- Ability to read and understand freight bills, packing lists (shipping documents), and codes on various freight products
- Ensure accurate freight counts, assess damages and deliver freight within an efficient time period
- Ability to operate a two-wheeler, drive a standard transmission tractor trailer, and a forklift to load or unload trucks
- Must have verbal and written communication skills to communicate with co-workers, customers, vendors and visitors via face-to-face, telephone or two-way radio
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to walk, use hands to handle or feet, use ladders, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand, sit, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms
- Available to work variable 8-10 hour shifts and additional 2-4 hours overtime, if required
Conditions Affecting Working Environment:
- Outside weather conditions for delivery purposes
- Around mechanical hazards, (i.e. dock plates that are slick)
- Employee may carry hazardous materials
- Warehouses which are not heated/cooled for comfort
