As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate payment to our carriers. You will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining strong relationships with our brokers to facilitate smooth payment processes. Your work is critical to providing excellent service to both internal and external partners.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Enter carrier invoices – review for discrepancies, address, factoring company, lumper receipts, etc.
• Export from iTMS (transportation management system) to Intacct (accounting program).
• Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries via phone rotation within the department.
• Monitor AP email and respond to questions, forwarding as needed via email rotation within the department.
• Ensure all issues requiring attention are managed or resent if needed, and correct loads according to the required actions.
• Assist with special projects within the AP department as needed.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

• Basic (Required): High school diploma or GED, basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, data entry skills, and customer service experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a time-sensitive environment.
• Compliance with company procedures and escalation of issues as needed.
• Preferred: Previous Accounts Payable experience or Accounting education, transportation or logistics-related work experience, and familiarity with transportation management software.
