About the Position:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Central Services Technician I to join our team. As a Central Services Technician I, you will play a vital role in ensuring the proper decontamination, quality assurance, sterilization of equipment, and distribution of sterile surgical instruments. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining patient safety and quality care by identifying and addressing equipment failures and hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform sterile processing functions, including decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments, to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Conduct quality assurance activities to guarantee the proper processing of surgical equipment
• Distribute sterile surgical instrumentation to various areas within the hospital and to outside service contracts, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
• Identify and remedy equipment failures and hazards that pose risks to patient safety, collaborating with the team to implement corrective actions

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 1 year of central supply experience preferred
• Knowledge of nursing procedures, aseptic technique, medical terminology, and infection control preferred
• WI-Certified and Registered Central Service Technician preferred
• IL-Certified and Registered Central Service Technician required within 18 months of employment

Nice-to-Haves:

• Prior experience in a healthcare setting
• Certifications in central service technology or a related field
