Evening Study Center Teacher - Adult ESL (Supplemental Pay Available) - Remote
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced teacher to join our team as an Evening Study Center Teacher for our Adult ESL program. As a teacher with Garland Independent School District, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of adult learners in our community. This is a part-time position with supplemental pay available, and we are looking for internal candidates only.Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Adult ESL classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings from August to March
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of adult learners
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
- Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness
Requirements:
- Certified teacher with three (3) or more years of teaching experience
- Bilingual certification or ESL Endorsement
- Prior experience teaching English to speakers of other languages
- Knowledge of principles for adult learning and instructional best practices for online learning
- Flexible teaching style, open-minded, patient, and encouraging instructor
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with others in a virtual or face-to-face environment
- Strong technological skills
Work Details:
- Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:15 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- Location: Remote
- Compensation: $20/hour for training and $30/hour for teaching
