Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced In-Person Test Prep Tutor to join our team in Illinois. As a tutor with Applerouth, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives, helping them achieve their academic goals and build confidence in their abilities. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one, in-home test prep tutoring to students in the Chicago metro area (Chicago, Evanston, Winnetka, Glenview, Highland Park)
• Develop and implement personalized learning plans to help students achieve their goals
• Utilize extensive knowledge of the SAT and ACT, as well as pedagogical strategies, to tutor students effectively
• Participate in paid training and regular supplemental training to stay up-to-date on changes to tests and pedagogy
• Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

• Empathy, creativity, strong communication skills, and a desire to help others
• Reliable transportation and high-speed internet
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience is a plus
• SAT, ACT, or other standardized test scores
• At least one year of college
• Access to reliable transportation (many sessions will take place in students' homes or a mutually amenable location)
