Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide native language support and instructional assistance to newcomer students in all subject areas
• Assist teachers in preparing materials, administering tests, and implementing instruction plans
• Provide supplemental interpreting and translation services for multilingual students and families
• Help newcomer students build a positive self-image and promote cultural awareness and sensitivity
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including lunchroom/playground duty

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• No experience required, but experience working with school-age children preferred
• Proficiency in English and a second language (such as Spanish or Dari/Pashto/Farsi) required
• Criminal background check required for hire
• First Aid certification preferred
