We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Services team, focusing on Authorization Infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in building and maintaining the infrastructure around our authorization systems, ensuring secure and controlled access to our platform products and services.

About the Role:

In this hands-on position, you'll design and implement distributed systems with a focus on authorization, collaborating closely with product and infra engineering teams to build new features and evolve our systems to meet growing business demands. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing significant parts of our authorization systems
• Maintaining and debugging existing authorization systems
• Providing technical support to other engineers and developers
• Staying up-to-date on the latest security threats and trends
• Collaborating within and across the Airbnb tech community

Your Expertise:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Experience working on distributed systems and evaluating trade-offs
• Proficiency in Java
• Experience working in Authorization systems (a plus)
• Strong technical communication skills
• A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for contributing to a positive team culture
