AI Platform Architect | Remote

What you do: As the AI & Analytics Platform Architect you will be the strategic and technical leader driving Allianz Life’s AI and Analytics capabilities on the Azure platform. In this pivotal role, you’ll combine hands-on engineering expertise with architectural vision to design, build, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure that powers advanced analytics and AI solutions. You’ll define and execute the platform’s architecture with a focus on operational excellence, security, and performance. Collaboration will be key, as you partner closely with IT, data science, analytics engineering, and vendor teams to deliver a robust, future-ready platform that accelerates innovation and business value. You will report to the Sr. Director, AI & Analytics Engineering. Platform Strategy & Architecture

• Define and evolve the architectural vision for the AI & Analytics platform on Azure, ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy and business goals
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-native solutions
• Own the platform roadmap, including service selection, integration patterns, and environment management

Engineering & Operations

• Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of platform components including data pipelines, model hosting environments, and monitoring frameworks
• Manage the platform’s development and test environments, including data provisioning, masking, and access controls
• Ensure high availability, performance, and observability of platform services through proactive monitoring and incident response

Collaboration & Governance

• Partner with IT, data science, and analytics engineering teams to support end-to-end solution delivery
• Provide architectural oversight and guidance across the SDLC, including CI/CD, release management, and environment promotion
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate production support activities with internal and external stakeholders

Innovation & Enablement

• Evaluate emerging Azure services and AI/ML capabilities to drive innovation and continuous improvement
• Contribute to platform governance, including data ethics, compliance, and security best practices
• Mentor technical teams and promote architectural standards and reusable patterns
• Utilize artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI)

What you bring:

• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering or architecture with at least 2+ years working on Azure
• Expertise in Azure services such as Azure Machine Learning, AI Foundry, Data Factory, Synapse, Key Vault, and Monitor
• Experience with MLOps, DevOps, and SDLC practices in a regulated enterprise environment
• Understanding of the infrastructure required to run LLM and other GenAI-based AI Applications as well as traditional ML Ops & data pipelines
• Experience managing multi-environment platforms (dev/test/prod) and supporting AI/analytics workloads
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B, L-1, TN, etc). If you are currently on CPT/OPT, you are ineligible due to the need for future immigration sponsorship
