DevOps Engineer - AWS

iFIT’s vision is to create the world's most holistic health and fitness platform, integrating all elements of health - physical fitness, mental health, nutrition and active recovery - into a seamless interactive experience. We develop proprietary software that learns and adjusts to the habits of each person as it delivers immersive content that guides them on their own individual fitness journey.

We are currently seeking an ambitious pace-setter to join our team as a DevOps Engineer (Remote - U.S.).

• Operational Excellence: Improve operational processes and system observability to support our global member base
• Product Engineering Support: Collaborate with Product teams to ensure that new features are delivered on-time and designed with scalability in mind
• Product Expansion: Support infrastructure and system enhancements required to expand iFIT’s reach and reliability as we grow internationally
• Toil Reduction: Solve problems in an automated, sustainable manner, with a focus on empowering teams to spend more time on high-impact projects

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK)
• Collaborate with Platform teams on cloud architecture, IaC (Terraform) standards, and best practices
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for TypeScript applications
• Troubleshoot build and deployment issues and support feature rollouts
• Document operational processes and author support runbooks
• Automate manual processes to improve efficiency and reliability
• Engage actively in daily team meetings and engineering rituals
• Provide hands-on support for TypeScript application deployments

Education and Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years as an AWS-focused DevOps Engineer managing infrastructure & (IaC) Terraform
• 5+ years experience as an application developer using strongly-typed language such as TypeScript
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes)
• Proven CI/CD pipeline experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in GitHub Actions
• Familiarity with AWS security services (WAF, GuardDuty, CloudTrail)
• Experience managing NoSQL (MongoDB) and relational databases (PostgreSQL)
• Background in event-driven architecture
• Knowledge of web frameworks (Express.js, Nest.js)
• Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPC configuration)
• Experience in cost optimization strategies for AWS
• Previous roles involving mentoring or training team members
• Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure
• AWS Cloud certifications
