We are currently seeking experienced Legal/Judicial contract candidates with significant experience transcribing depositions and hearings. This is a 100% remote opportunity for Independent Contractors. Content to be covered includes depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings. The role demands intense attention to detail in discerning spoken words, familiarity with legal terminology, and excellent grammar. You will process audio recordings while strictly adhering to style guides to produce verbatim transcripts. As an independent contractor for VIQ Solutions, candidates will have the flexibility to set their own schedules and receive guidance from our supportive, in-office team whenever needed. We provide work available 24/7/365 to fit any schedule, and those with weekend availability are encouraged to apply. • Experience with court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription required
• Excellent listening skills
• Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides
• Outstanding literacy skills including comprehension, spelling, and grammar
• Ability to collaborate remotely
• Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy
• Ability to process extreme audio/text content
• Ability to pass a background check
• Familiarity with legal terminology
• Court reporting students will also be considered
