Have you ever wanted to explore an opportunity to work on cutting edge security services and technologies that have a vast impact across all teams in a company? The Platform Security team is working on cutting-edge security services and technologies. These will be leveraged by the whole Engineering organization across Confluent thereby solidifying the overall security posture of Confluent’s internal services. This team is at the forefront of driving this charter and is critical to unblocking multiple different product and engineering initiatives at Confluent.

• Create and improve services, systems and infrastructure that will provide security functionality and compliance for Confluent Cloud’s services and infrastructure

• Partner across all of Product and Engineering to gather requirements and ensure that the security systems are designed and built per their functionality, scalability, and availability needs

• Collaborate broadly across teams to verify and deploy production changes to Confluent Cloud services and infrastructure

• Maintain critical monitoring and alerting systems required to ensure smooth operations of Confluent Cloud services and infrastructure

• 5+ years of relevant engineering work experience, with a strong delivery record.

• Expertise in Cloud Native technologies with experience operating large production workloads in the cloud. Experience in large scale infrastructure deployments in the cloud is desirable

• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization

• Strong expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code technologies like Terraform, Cloudformation, AWS CDK, Pulumi

• Must have Terraform for deploying infrastructure, and have delivered production code in high level programming like Java/Scala/Python/Go

• Strong fundamentals of Distributed Systems and their design

• Experience with telemetry tooling to monitor production systems

• Confidence with problem-solving and troubleshooting critical services

• Exceptional teamwork, collaboration skills, and the ability to act critically with minimal supervision at times in a remote first environment

• Experience with a rotating on-call schedule to provide support

• BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
