Work from home Full-time role Hiring

We are looking for someone who is collaborative and detail-oriented, who can streamline and improve existing processes, and think creatively about new ESG and Impact initiatives that add value to the business. This person should be passionate about sustainability and committed to keeping our approach ahead of a rapidly evolving market while ensuring compliance with our responsibilities as a Public Benefit Corporation (“PBC”). The ideal candidate will juggle – and juggle well – a variety of stakeholders and projects simultaneously while providing the highest standards of insight and service.

What you will be doing at Generate Capital as a Corporate Analyst/Associate, ESG

  • Oversee ESG data gathering and reporting for shareholder and investor updates, ensuring compliance with Generate’s PBC commitments and Green Financing opportunities

  • Work cross-functionally with Generate’s investment and asset management teams, as well as its portfolio companies to streamline ESG data collection workflows

  • Assist the investment team in evaluating ESG factors during the due diligence process. Manage inbound investor inquiries on ESG topics, and optimize workflows for greater efficiency

  • Support on the development and execution of Generate’s Impact Acceleration framework, working closely with investment teams

  • Serve as an in-house ESG expert by keeping up with relevant industry trends, market developments and information through research and other reports and interactions

  • Build and maintain networks with appropriate ESG-focused organizations and agencies including governments, consultants, and suppliers

  • Assist with policy and research functions as needed

Candidate qualifications & core characteristics

  • A demonstrated passion for, or commitment to, our mission

  • 3+ years relevant and ESG specific experience (5+ years career experience); Ideally with a background in investing, banking, or capital markets background a plus

  • Familiarity with sustainable finance and sustainable finance taxonomy: TCFD, GRI GRESB, SFDR, VRF/SASB, green bond principals, etc.

  • Unimpeachable integrity and glowing references

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, intuition, and listening as well as strong writing, editing, and basic design skills

  • High level of self-awareness and humility, with excitement about confronting uncomfortable situations or new challenges

  • Intellectual agility, curiosity, and creativity; problem-solving is your default mode

  • Entrepreneurial spirit: flexibility, comfort with risk, recognition that “perfect can be the enemy of the good”

Generate’s compensation packages are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  Salary decisions take into account a wide variety of factors including, but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $125,000 - $155,000. In addition, the compensation package may include a discretionary bonus and other benefits, including health care benefits, retirement benefits, benefits permitting paid days off (including sick leave, parental leave, paid time off or vacation benefits), and other benefits that must be reported for federal tax purposes. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of this range.
