Who we are

Integral is building technologies to treat neurological and psychiatric disorders.

Our first device is a miniaturized, implanted, deep-brain interface for severely affected patients. It will have unprecedented capabilities for recording and modulating neural activity and for monitoring patients’ symptoms.

This device will dramatically advance our ability to treat brain disorders and to understand their biological causes. We will use this unique discovery platform to develop an expanding range of more effective treatments that will ultimately be accessible to everyone.

• Stephen O'Driscoll, VP of Engineering - Verily cofounder and former Head of Electrical Engineering, former Director of Device Electronics at Science Corp

We prioritize ambitious engineering, speed, and patients' needs.

What you'll do

You will personally own multiple mission-critical R&D efforts as part of developing and shipping our first device, including at least one of the following:

• Process development and testing of our device’s novel electrodes and leads

• Electrode coating development and testing

• Surgical process development and insertion tools

• Benchtop testing and data analysis (e-chem, mechanical, electrical)

• In vivo testing and data analysis

• Packaging and sterilization

We work full-time, in-person in South San Francisco.

Who we’re looking for

You should have exceptional abilities in at least one of the following areas:

• Medical device design and assembly

• Thin-film electrode design and development

• Thin-film electrical interconnect development

• Coating development

• Electrochemical test development

• Electrical, mechanical, and biocompatibility testing

• Surgical tool development

• Packaging and sterilization

• In vivo neurophysiology data collection and analysis, ideally with novel devices

• Image analysis

You should also have:

• The desire to get your hands dirty: drive CAD, write python, rapidly prototype, etc.

• Cross-disciplinary knowledge of disciplines like MechE, materials science, biology, medical imaging, or software engineering

• Deep understanding of fundamental engineering design principles

• A track record of swift execution

Experience bringing implantable devices to market is a bonus.

Neurotechnology experience is not necessary.
