This role will be working on our Poe product.

The Monetization team on Poe is focused on building innovative features around how users purchase access to a variety of AI language models (LLMs) on our platform through subscriptions and direct purchases, as well as how we pay our creators. Our mission is to create seamless, user-friendly experiences for both subscribers and creators, creating a sustainable marketplace that benefits both users and creators.

We are seeking a talented Full Stack Engineer to join our team in developing new monetization features for Poe. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to build critical systems that power subscriptions, direct purchases, bot pricing models, and creator monetization tools. Your work will directly impact how millions of users interact with and purchase access to various LLMs and how creators monetize their expertise and AI models on the platform.

As a senior engineer on the team, you'll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to conceptualize, build, and iterate on monetization features from end to end. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical skills who wants to make a significant impact on a rapidly growing AI platform while working on challenging problems at the intersection of technology and business.

• Design, build, and maintain robust backend and frontend systems for Poe's monetization features, including subscription management, LLM access purchasing flows, and creator payment systems

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the user-problems and translate them into scalable technical solutions

• Build intuitive and elegant user interfaces for complex monetary transactions

• Develop and optimize payment processing systems, ensuring security, reliability, and compliance with financial regulations

• Create tools that empower creators to set pricing, monitor revenue, and understand their monetization performance

• Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to architectural decisions

• Mentor other engineers and contribute to engineering best practices across the organization

• Availability for meetings and impromptu communication during Quora's “coordination hours" (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time)

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on full-stack development

• Strong experience in at least one of: frontend development (React, TypeScript) or backend systems (Python)

• Experience building and maintaining production systems that handle financial transactions

• Solid understanding of database design, API development, and web application architecture

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially important when working with monetary systems

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

• Passion for AI technology and creating business models that support AI innovation

• Experience with payment processing systems, subscription management, or financial technology

• Knowledge of financial compliance requirements and best practices for handling monetary transactions

• Experience with GraphQL and modern frontend frameworks (React, NextJS)

• Understanding of data analysis and metrics tracking for business and financial systems

• Prior experience working on consumer-facing products with monetization components

There are many factors that will determine the starting pay, including but not limited to experience, location, education, and business needs.

• US candidates only: For US based applicants, the salary range is $229,559 - $267,615 USD + equity + benefits.

• Canada candidates only: For Toronto and Vancouver based applicants, the salary range is $238,776 - $278,361 CAD + equity + benefits. For all other locations in Canada, the salary range is $222,858 - $259,803 CAD + equity + benefits.
