Military & Political Power Research Fall Internship

Contribute to defense strategy research and policy development at FDD’s Center on Military and Political Power. Your Role: Key responsibilities include:

• Working closely with CMPP Senior Director Bradley Bowman on projects related to U.S. defense strategy and policy.
• Conducting rigorous, timely, and relevant research and analysis on defense strategies, policies, and capabilities.
• Participating in a twice-monthly speaker series with high-level DC officials and senior staff.
• Building on academic skills through collaboration with senior staff.
• Completing specific government documentation required for stipend payment.

About You: Candidates should meet the following qualifications:

• Minimum 3.2 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
• Relevant course of study and completed coursework in International Relations, Security Studies, History, Communications, Journalism, International Economics, Political Science, Computer Science, or a relevant STEM field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and basic Excel skills.
• Ability to commit to a minimum of 22 hours per week.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Demonstrated record of excellence, including strong research and writing skills.

Training & Development: Interns participate in a twice-monthly speaker series with high-level officials and senior staff, and receive mentorship and skill development through close collaboration with senior staff.
