We deliver substantial business impact by enabling numerous stakeholders across the company, including Marketing (Brand and Performance), Guest/Host, Policy, and more. The Difference You Will Make: As a Software Engineer in Marketing Technology, you will be responsible for partnering with Product Managers to understand the customer needs, developing well defined features and operating the platform with testing and monitoring. This role is highly cross-functional. You will be able to act as a close partner to marketing, design, engineering, product management, data science, and policy, to make high impacts around the world. A Typical Day: • Autonomously deliver projects/tasks assigned to you; escalate to senior ICs/EMs promptly on the team if help is needed. • Actively participate in team meetings, sprint ceremonies and team on-call processes. • Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Product Managers, Technical Program Managers and other Engineers to design, prototype, and deliver high-quality software to fuel the Airbnb Marketing org. • Identify areas of improvement and drive web best practices, as well as maintain a high quality bar in our codebase. Your Expertise: • 2+ years of software development experience • Expertise with one or more backend server languages (Java, Kotlin preferred), and • Expertise in popular storage systems such as relational databases, noSQL and caching • Experience working with a SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) at scale • Experience working with GraphQL and REST APIs • Prior experience with 3rd-party SDK integration is a plus • Prior experience and/or interest in front-end technologies is a plus Your Location: This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
