Position Type: 1099 Contractor Job Summary: Forrest Solutions is seeking a motivated and tech-savvy Attorney or Paralegal with 5-10 years of legal experience as an associate at a firm or similar experience. This is a remote, project-based role supporting an AI startup, where you will handle contract drafting, writing, and review. If you're someone with ambition, good work ethic, and strong time-management who enjoys managing your own schedule and taking initiative with diverse projects, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Candidates must be flexible, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to the dynamic needs of the startup environment. This is Not a “Document Review” Position. Key Responsibilities: • Contract Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and edit various types of legal agreements, ensuring attention to detail and compliance with applicable laws. • Tech Experienced: Utilize digital tools and platforms to manage legal work and collaborate remotely. Qualifications: • Experience: 5-10 years of legal experience as an associate at a firm, with a focus on contract drafting, writing, and negotiation. • Tech Adept: Must be comfortable working with remote collaboration tools and legal tech platforms. Skills: • Strong contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills • Detail and process-oriented with excellent communication abilities • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage your own time and projects • Enjoys working with diverse teams and adapting to changing priorities Key Attributes: • Flexible Schedule: Ability to work 32-40 hours per week, plus potential for overtime at your own pace, as long as project milestones are upkept or exceeded. • Initiative Focused: You enjoy the freedom to set your own schedule and thrive in a role where you manage your own workload and time. • Problem Solver: Able to handle complex legal issues and adapt to the fast-paced needs of an AI startup. Compensation: • $80 - $90 per hour. Pay rate variation based on experience as well as different projects. Additional Information: • 1099 Contractor Role: Project-based, remote work. • Candidates must reside in the DC Metro Area. • Two professional references from previous employers are required. • A cover letter must be submitted with the application. • This is NOT a document review position.
