The Remote Operator 1 is responsible for the operation of approximately 6 plants while on shift, including everything from steady state operation and optimization up to full plant restart events... Skills • Willingness to work rotating shifts (24 x 7 x 365 operation) • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively • Strong analytical thinking to make quick and accurate decisions based on operational data • Alertness to operational issues in a high-stress environment • Excellent communication skills • Basic computer proficiency Responsibilities • Maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operation of approximately six air separation plants via computer interface while on shift • Respond to and troubleshoot process upsets and plant problems • Manage alarms and responses • Perform plant shutdowns and startups • Handle power management and emergency responses • Monitor Key Performance Indicators and escalate any identified deficiencies • Communicate plant status and performance to the business • Provide ad-hoc support for non-ROC plants on a reactionary basis • Maintain the integrity of the Messer Operations Network through adherence to security practices Qualifications • High School diploma or GED • One of the following: • Minimum of 2 years of plant experience in a process plant operations role (chemical, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, power, etc.) • Military experience (Navy Nukes, Navy Fire Controlman, Air Force Fuels) • Recent college graduates with an engineering or physical science degree Education Requirements • High School diploma or GED Education Requirements Credential Category • High School diploma or equivalent Experience Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of relevant plant experience or equivalent military experience • Recent graduates with applicable degrees are also considered Why work in Bethlehem, PA Bethlehem, PA, offers a rich historical backdrop combined with vibrant community life and access to various recreational activities.
