Front-End Architect Full-Stack Engineer Location New York City HQ, Austin, Remote - US Time Zone Type Full time Department Engineering Compensation • $130K – $190K • Offers Equity Trunk Tools takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. Your starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. For this role, the estimated base salary is $ - $ with a comprehensive benefits package and equity component. At Trunk Tools, we are tackling the massive $13 trillion+ construction industry. We’re an exceptional team of serial entrepreneurs, brought together by our shared mission: automating construction. Our founding team (SpaceX, Stanford, MIT, Carta, etc.) has successfully built and deployed software in construction for 140k+ users, millions of users beyond the... construction space, and worked on +$2 billion of built-environment projects. We aren’t another out-of-touch tech startup, most of our team comes from construction. We spent the last few years building the brain behind construction. Now we are deploying workflows/ agents, starting with Q&A document chatbot, to be ingrained in construction teams’ workflows, ultimately to automate construction. Given our immense traction with several Fortune 500 construction companies, we are doubling our team in order to deploy several more agents this year. You will have an opportunity to drive the transformation of a multi-trillion-dollar industry full of waste, risks and inefficiencies. What you will do and achieve: • Architect and implement scalable frontend systems that meet the evolving needs of our product and engineering teams. • Design, develop, and maintain reusable UI components and comprehensive design systems that ensure consistency across our applications. • Build and integrate frontend testing infrastructure within CI/CD pipelines to maintain a high level of code quality and performance. • Lead the frontend architecture efforts to create scalable, maintainable, and efficient codebases that align with industry best practices. • Collaborate with full-stack engineers and other cross-functional team members to deliver seamless, end-to-end user experiences. • Stay informed on the latest frontend technologies and trends, continuously improving the architecture and development processes. • Contribute to full-stack development efforts when necessary, with a strong focus on frontend specialization. Who you are: • A full-stack engineer with a strong specialization in frontend architecture, with 7-10+ years of experience in building and scaling frontend systems. • Highly proficient in React and TypeScript, with deep knowledge of frontend development and best practices. • Experienced in building and maintaining design systems, UI components, and implementing frontend testing infrastructures. • Capable of architecting frontend systems that are scalable, maintainable, and efficient for long-term success. • Familiar with Node.js (nice to have) and comfortable working across the full stack when necessary. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex frontend challenges. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.
