Description of position: Provide administrative support to corporate counsel in the Legal Department. This position focuses on providing clerical support in tracking, routing, communicating, and processing employment and other legal matters... Job Duties/Essential Functions: • Responds to subpoenas, authorizations, verifications of employment, and wage loss requests. • Sends and tracks litigation hold notices. • Prepares approved invoices for payment, and tracks the budget for the employment group. • Requests checks and tracks payments made on spreadsheets. • Prepares expense reports for attorneys' travel. • Schedules phone calls and meetings. • Communicates by phone and email with internal Costco clients and outside counsel. • Opens, reviews, and distributes the department’s mail. • Completes other clerical and administrative tasks as assigned. Non-Essential Functions: • Assists in other areas of the department as necessary. • Assists in other areas of the company as necessary. Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications Required: • Demonstrated and reliable ability to maintain confidentiality in all legal matters. • Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on written and verbal communication. • Well-organized, able to identify and prioritize tasks, excellent troubleshooting skills, and ability to successfully manage multiple projects. • Proactive attitude, high engagement, and a strong interest in learning. • Demonstrated ability to be professional and congenial, and to adjust positively to changes in direction and/or assignment. • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office suite, Google tools, and Foxit PhantomPDF. • Ability to make sound critical decisions and accept responsibility for those decisions.
