Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Grocery Buyer to join our innovative team in a remote capacity. This pivotal role will allow you to leverage your passion for grocery procurement and your expertise in vendor management to drive our sourcing strategies. Key Responsibilities • Engage in precise demand forecasting to anticipate customer requirements and place orders accordingly. • Negotiate effectively with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, quality, and service agreements. • Advocate for adherence to procurement policies and procedures across the organization. • Ensure an efficient balance of inventory levels, maximizing shelf availability while minimizing waste. • Collaborate with various internal departments to meet company objectives. • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors, store operations, and distribution entities. • Analyze data and reports to monitor cost efficiency, product quality, and inventory metrics. • Address store-level inventory challenges and resolve billing discrepancies. • Stay abreast of market dynamics and promotional influences. • Conduct store visits to gather insights and evaluate program effectiveness. • Oversee accounts payable processes and ensure meticulous record-keeping. • Utilize remote access to manage procurement systems as needed. Required Skills • A minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or vendor management within the food sector or retail industry. • Additional experience in marketing, logistics, or store operations is advantageous. • Proficiency in grocery procurement, inventory oversight, and financial management. • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to build effective relationships. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently. Qualifications • Proven track record as a seasoned professional in procurement or vendor management roles. • Relevant experience in the food industry or retail settings. • A degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
