In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for transcribing depositions, hearings, and various judicial proceedings. Your ability to maintain exceptional attention to detail, along with your familiarity with legal terminology and outstanding grammar, will be essential as you process audio recordings and produce precise verbatim transcripts in line with established style guides. Key Responsibilities • Create accurate verbatim transcripts from audio recordings of legal proceedings. • Adhere strictly to client-specific style guides while ensuring high quality and accuracy. • Collaborate remotely with our supportive in-office team for guidance when needed. Required Skills • Proven experience in court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription. • Excellent listening and comprehension skills. • Strong adherence to deadlines and meticulous attention to detail. • Outstanding literacy skills, including spelling and grammar proficiency. • Typing proficiency with both speed and accuracy. • Ability to handle sensitive audio/text content, which may contain offensive material. • Familiarity with legal terminology is crucial. • Candidates must be able to pass a background check. • Court reporting students are also encouraged to apply.
