- Conduct thorough on-site evaluations of Medicare-Medicaid certified healthcare facilities to verify adherence to federal standards.
- Engage in various surveys, including re-certification, comparative audits, complaint investigations, and follow-up visits, for diverse facilities such as:
- Long-term care institutions
- Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASC)
- Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICFs/IID)
- End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) centers
- Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF)
- Hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals
- Hospice centers
- Prepare for assessments by reviewing documentation, touring facilities, observing care practices, and interviewing staff and residents.
- Identify and report non-compliance areas, ensuring healthcare facilities are equipped to address deficiencies.
- Evaluate facility systems concerning quality of care, patient rights, and physical infrastructure.
- Effectively communicate findings with key personnel during the survey process.
- Review and assess corrective action plans, conduct follow-ups, and monitor compliance enhancements.
- Active RN license in good standing.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate healthcare systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Capable of making independent decisions and managing survey processes proficiently.
- Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and organizational abilities.
- Willingness and capacity to travel nationwide up to 75% regularly.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
- Completion of CMS's Long-Term Care Basic Training and passing of the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) is mandatory.
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a surveyor in accrediting or certifying long-term care facilities.
- Salary: (75,000 - )90,000 annually
- Full-time schedule, Monday - Friday
