Virtual Machines Product Manager, Google Compute Engine

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
• Experience developing or launching infrastructure products or technologies within networking, storage, compute hardware, databases, file systems, data analytics, cluster management, and other software infrastructure areas.
• Experience in one or more of the following: Compute Engine, Data Center Technology, Virtual Machines, Servers.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
• Experience in one or more of the following: compute architecture, data center infrastructure, CPU (x86/Arm) and I/O technologies, Cloud Infrastructure, Storage, with knowledge of the operational aspects of Cloud Servers.
• Knowledge of different workload requirements and their demands on the underlying infrastructure.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Drive new capabilities for the VM instances including intercepting new technologies, roadmap planning, business growth forecasting, ecosystem, and customer adoption.
• Manage product strategy for the VM family including the associated business outcomes including presenting to key leadership inside Google Cloud.
• Work across hardware, software, research, and product teams towards long-term product goals, and understand the competitive dynamics and industry trends on where the innovation is happening for both workloads and hardware.
• Provide data-driven insights to prioritize engineering initiatives and maximize return on investment.
• Define and drive Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies for product launches, drive new capabilities in the foundational Compute Infrastructure layer (e.g., Hypervisor and Virtualization Stack), and deliver innovation for Google Cloud.
