Specialist, Facilities (Remote in Houston, TX)
About the position
The Facilities Specialist at Chipotle Mexican Grill plays a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance and repair of restaurant facilities. This remote position, based in Houston, TX, involves assisting the Facilities Manager in ensuring that all facilities operate safely and efficiently. The specialist will conduct site visits, develop preventative maintenance schedules, and train restaurant staff on facility management practices. The role requires strong trade knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders to maintain high standards of facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Facilities Manager by supervising facility aspects of restaurant management at the market level. ,
- Perform facility maintenance and repair through monthly site visits and analysis of restaurants. ,
- Formulate preventative maintenance schedules for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of restaurant facilities. ,
- Carry out set procedures in the event facilities cease functioning or present a threat to health and safety. ,
- Train managers, crew, and other restaurant staff on managing and maintaining restaurant facilities. ,
- Ensure adherence to facility maintenance practices and procedures by restaurant staff. ,
- Conduct detailed facility maintenance and repair seminars. ,
- Provide comprehensive maintenance visit recaps to the Operations Team and Regional Facility Manager. ,
- Identify issues contributing to higher maintenance and repair costs and communicate them to relevant parties. ,
- Guide restaurants on maintaining and updating facility records. ,
- Perform regular equipment and building repairs as needed. ,
- Conduct new store turnover and inspections with contractors and the Operations Team. ,
- Serve as a liaison between restaurants, landlords, contractors, and vendors for facility repairs. ,
- Assist Operations Team in investigating and escalating facilities issues as necessary. ,
- Represent facilities at operations management meetings and communicate back to management. ,
- Provide field support to the Development Department regarding regional initiatives and needs. ,
- Communicate contractor deficiencies on repair projects and follow Development Department guidelines.
Requirements
- Strong trade knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, commercial cooking equipment, appliance repair, and basic HVAC/refrigeration. ,
- Knowledge of rules and regulations governing facilities safety requirements. ,
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple schedules effectively. ,
- Clear and patient communication skills for training on facility maintenance and repair concepts. ,
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report for travel between restaurants. ,
- B.A./B.S. in a related field or equivalent education and experience with two years of training in facility repair and maintenance.
