For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see .JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSPenn State Brandywine is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant (part-time) to provide on-campus support for its Academic Affairs and Student Disability Resources Departments.This opening may offer a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.Job DutiesPrimary responsibilities for Academic Affairs include:
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Academic Affairs with part-time faculty hiring.
  • Help plan and organize academic events.
  • Handle reimbursements and related administrative tasks.
  • Answer phone calls and manage office communications.
  • Maintain office supply inventories.
  • Support faculty with administrative requests.
  • Assist academic committees and programs.
  • Draft written correspondence.
  • Manage and update databases.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Academic Affairs department.
Primary responsibilities for Student Disability Resources include:
  • Processing and scheduling exam accommodations
  • Proctoring exams
  • Assisting with events and operations of the SDR Center
This opening is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday during the Fall and Spring Semesters. Additional assistance may be requested during summer months.Requirements and Qualifications
  • Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Database experience preferred.
  • This opening handles confidential information and correspondence, and the successful candidate must be able to use discretion in carrying out assigned duties.
  • Candidates must possess excellent attention to detail, demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, have a customer service background, and be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
