Responsibilities:
- Understand user needs and design software to meet them.
- Fix bugs in existing software.
- Suggest ways to improve documentation and development processes.
- Create new software or add features to existing software.
- Integrate software into new or existing systems.
- Write simple data queries.
- Write or review software documentation.
- Lead a team or work as part of a team, depending on your experience.
- Design or implement complex database queries.
- Develop algorithms to meet performance standards.
- Help develop and run tests for software components.
- Analyze system performance and work with users or engineers to find solutions.
- Modify software to fix errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.
- Use scientific analysis and math models to design software.
- Ensure team products meet quality standards.
- Recommend new technologies and processes.
- Lead or support multiple software development teams.
- Choose the best development process with the customer and system engineers.
- Ensure all software meets quality standards.
- Delegate tasks to teams and monitor their performance.
- No demonstrated experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Four (4) years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Seven (7) years experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
