- Undertake diagnostic, breakdowns, follow-up work, PM's to a high standard of execution, all work completed in a safe and timely manner.
- Provide technical advice and support to fellow Maintenance Team members.
- Ensures workmanship through meeting standards and tolerances and testing of equipment prior to handover.
- Identify correct parts and equipment for all planned and unplanned jobs as necessary.
- Liaise closely with and maintain effective communication with Leading Hand and other key Stakeholders to organise priority breakdowns.
- Highlight equipment defects and issues effectively.
- Rigorous cost management. Avoid rework and the unnecessary use of parts/services.
- Ensure all safety related activities are completed in accordance with Company policy such as Hazard ID's, pre-start checks, pre-start meetings, and incident reporting as required.
- 2-5 years mechanical experience in light vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent fault-finding skill and ability to carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications
- Proficient in prioritising work
- Ability to problem-solve and manage conflicting priorities.
- Basic literacy, must be able to read and write in English
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, Pronto or similar CMMS.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
- Awareness of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Act & Regulations.
- Be able to pass a background check and post offer physical.
