In the last year, our West Region alone has gone from 40 employees to over 60.Now, we are looking for a Client Solutions Associate for our Sacramento, CA office, with options of operating remotely from nearby, including Reno, NV, the Bay Area, CA, and anywhere in California and Southern Oregon.The Client Solutions Associate position is designed to be an initial entry point into RES' West Sales Team and plays a major function in supporting the pursuit of RES new business opportunities and execution of RES's growth strategy.This role is focused on assisting the Sales Team in the identification and evaluation of potential projects for clients, building the top of the sales pipeline, and compiling and developing critical client deliverables. This will enable RES to deliver comprehensive ecological restoration and water resource solutions to the clients. A Day in the LifeThis role is focused on assisting the Sales Team in the identification and evaluation of potential projects for clients, building the top of the sales pipeline, and compiling and developing critical client deliverables. This will enable RES to deliver comprehensive ecological restoration and water resource solutions to the clients. An outgoing, competitive personality and comfortability with meeting new people will help you thrive in in this role.You will be also work on building your own professional network as you will be assisting and directly contributing to the sales process as well. You will be part of a collaborative team that works in an office setting but also spends some time on the road (we travel up to 25% of the year). This is a team that is ready to support your training and development and expects you to be a detail-oriented self-starter able to work with ambiguity.50% of your time, you will be assisting other Sales Team members. You will be reaching out to new clients and partners over the phone and via email, setting and attending client meetings, crafting presentations and maps, and producing impact/offset analyses, qualifications packages, proposals, and other key client deliverables. You will be using the entire package of Microsoft Office for that, so extensive experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Pro is required.50% of your time you will be researching new opportunities through market research, data analysis, performing competitor analysis, evaluating funding sources, and leads in the direction of the Sales Team and building your own professional network. You will also be engaging with existing clients to identify uncovered needs for ecological restoration solutions, so be prepared to showcase your communication skills during the interview! You will be extensively using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Pro, and GIS would be a plus, so strong working knowledge of these tools, as well as technical and creative writing skills, are a must.Expect to travel regionally to visit project sites, meet with regulators and clients, and represent RES at conferences and partner events.We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
  • BS/BA in Environmental Science, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a related industry, dealing with complex solutions with multi-year sales cycle and multiple stakeholders
  • Can assess and manage project timelines, identify risks, and align teams to meet deliverables
  • Experience interpreting financial models and communicating financial health of deals
  • Experience with contracts and key provisions; legal awareness in deal structuring
  • Willingness to travel regionally (~25%)

What Will Make You Stand Out
  • Experience with relevant environmental regulations and permits/approvals (e.g. CWA 404/402/401, NWP/IP, NPDES, ESA)
  • PMP or advanced training in project or deal management
  • Knowledge of stream/wetland design and construction methods
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) skills.
  • Relationships with local, state, and federal regulators in your region
  • Experience in the review and preparation of regulatory documents and deliverables and responding to agency comments
  • Experience with science, design and/or construction of wetlands
