Role Overview:
As an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), you will provide multi-disciplinary security support for DoD government security programs. This full-time, on-site role requires a thorough understanding of DoD compliance and regulation standards, as well as the ability to manage secure programs and assess new areas and technologies for compliance. Your work will be critical to ensuring the security and integrity of GE Aerospace’s systems and operations.Key Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of policies such as NISPOM, JSIG, ICD 503, and DAAPM to ensure compliance.
- Execute Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, including package development, POA&Ms, ConMon, Security Plans, Risk Assessments, and system/site policies.
- Manage change control, configuration management, and information assurance processes.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), security in depth (SID) plans, and security policies.
- Handle security incidents and conduct investigations independently.
- Utilize Splunk or other SIEM/threat detection platforms for monitoring and analysis.
- Audit large network environments with multiple operating systems and applications (Windows, Linux, VMware, Cisco).
- Identify security vulnerabilities and provide risk mitigation solutions.
- Manage Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment and NSA requirements.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or relevant military/proven career experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in DoD government security programs.
- CompTIA Security+ certification or other DoD 8570 or 8140 qualifications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective problem identification and solution skills.
