This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive operational excellence through data governance and systems integration whilst partnering with key stakeholders across Tax, Business and Technology teams.The candidate must be able to operate in a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment with experience in process improvement, collaboration with various stakeholders (within and outside of tax), and managing the progression of projects. Successful candidates will have a background in Tax and experience with project management combined with the in-depth ability to work with large data sets and identify technology solutions to automate current processes.This role will operate with independence and be expected to demonstrate an ability to collaborate and problem solve.Key job responsibilitiesExtract and analyze large datasets using SQL, investigating and troubleshooting complex data issuesTranslate technical findings into clear communications for leadership, tax authorities, and stakeholdersDesign and implement data governance frameworks and validation protocolsBuild and maintain comprehensive dashboards and tracking systemsEvaluate and implement technical tools and solutions, including integration of enterprise systemsSupport development of audit data frameworksCreate and maintain project roadmaps and completion strategiesCurate and implement solutions for existing audit practicesDrive consensus and approvals for various tax projects and initiativesDevelop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs)Drive process improvements by conducting deep-dive analyses of current workflows to identify critical dependenciesLeverage Gen AI and emerging technologies to create operational efficiencies and standardizationDevelop and implement plans to remediate technical debt and manual processesEvaluate and implement technical tools and solutions, including integration of enterprise systemsBasic Qualifications5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience3+ years of writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Tableau, Power BI experienceBachelor's degreeExperience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insightsExperience with ExcelExperience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsMBAAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
