Discord Moderator at LMArena Location: Remote Type: Part-Time or Contract About the Role: LMArena is seeking a dedicated Discord Moderator to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and high-quality environment for our growing community. You’ll play a key role in upholding community standards, supporting healthy discussions, and ensuring our Discord remains a space where people can explore and engage with AI in a respectful, inclusive way. This role is ideal for someone who’s detail-oriented, level-headed, and passionate about online community culture. Responsibilities:

• Monitor Discord server activity to enforce community guidelines and prevent spam, harassment, or inappropriate behavior
• Respond to user questions and concerns, and help resolve conflicts in a fair and respectful manner
• Take appropriate moderation actions such as muting or removing disruptive members, and escalate issues to administrators as needed
• Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere by encouraging thoughtful discussion and respectful interaction
• Support the coordination of community events, giveaways, and member-led initiatives (as applicable)
• Stay up to date with Discord moderation tools, bots, and features to help manage the server more effectively

Requirements:

• Prior experience moderating Discord servers or similar online communities
• Strong knowledge of Discord’s Community server tools, including roles, permissions, bots, stages, and moderation features
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to de-escalate conflicts calmly and professionally
• Consistent, neutral approach to moderation, with sound judgment and respect for community guidelines
• Availability to regularly check in and respond to community activity in a timely manner
• Familiarity with the community’s tone, values, and norms, or a willingness to learn quickly

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in community management or online moderation.
• Familiarity with Discord bots and automation tools (e.g., MEE6, Dyno, Carl-bot).
• Basic understanding of content moderation best practices.
• Ability to assist in server improvements and engagement strategies.
