Employment Class: Part Time Position Summary The Website Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of engaging and user-friendly websites that align with CEDC's organizational goals and provide a landing platform for customers. This role requires a skilled developer proficient in front-end and back-end technologies, with a strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles and best practices. The Website Developer will collaborate with the Graphic Designer, Website Administrator, and other stakeholders to ensure the website effectively communicates CEDC's offerings, generates leads, and drives conversions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Website Development & Maintenance:
- Develop and maintain CEDC's websites using standard HTML/CSS practices, JavaScript frameworks, and relevant back-end technologies.
- Create responsive and user-friendly website layouts and interfaces that adhere to accessibility guidelines (WCAG).
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
- Implement and maintain website security measures to protect against vulnerabilities.
- Conduct thorough website testing to identify and correct any bugs or performance issues.
- Optimize website performance for speed and scalability.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with the Graphic Designer to ensure the visual design and branding are consistent across the website.
- Work with the Website Administrator to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the website.
- Gather and refine website specifications and requirements based on technical needs and stakeholder input.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to understand their website needs and provide technical solutions.
- Content & SEO Optimization:
- Collaborate with content creators to optimize website content for search engines (SEO) and user engagement.
- Implement lead generation forms and call-to-action (CTA) buttons to capture leads and track conversions.
- Utilize analytics tools to monitor website traffic, user behavior, and conversion rates.
Education, Certification & Experience Requirements Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in front-end and back-end web development.
- Minimum 5 years of website development
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Required:
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, Drupal, etc.
- Strong understanding of UX principles and best practices.
- Experience with SEO best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Website traffic and engagement metrics (e.g., bounce rate, time on site, pages per visit).
- Lead generation and conversion rates.
- Website performance metrics (e.g., page load speed, uptime).
- User satisfaction scores.
Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands
- Remote work is authorized for this position
- Scheduled hours will be flexible
- May require participation in rotating schedule for off-shift and weekend work
- On-call availability for maintenance and emergency situations
- Duties are subject to change based on the needs of the customer
